GUIDELINES

There are three ways to submit your story and/or photo:

  1. Online
  2. By email at submissions@youtouchedmylife.com. All stories need to be accompanied by a completed Story Submission Form. (Download the Form from our site using Adobe Reader.)
  3. By mail: You may submit typed or neatly written stories. Or mail submissions on a CD. Regardless of the type of submission, a completed Story Submission Form needs to accompany your submission. Please note: stories, photos, and captions submitted via mail cannot be returned.

The maximum length of a story should be:
1,000 words or 7,000 characters (including spaces)

Please submit true, inspirational, original, and unpublished works:
By submitting a non-fiction story, you authenticate that it is original and unpublished and that you have permission from all parties of material interest to submit it.

When submitting a photo:
By submitting a photo, you confirm that you have permission from all parties to submit the photo for future inclusion in You Touched My Life or its affiliates' electronic or print media.

Payment for stories:
Original, unpublished stories selected for publication will be paid $50 (USD) upon publication of the book as well as receive a complimentary copy of the book in which it appears. If your photo, with caption, is selected for publication, a complimentary copy of the book in which it appears will be sent to you.

Am I limited to the number of submissions?
Feel free to submit as many stories and/or photos as you desire. Please keep in mind the direction of the books – to show gratitude and to inspire.

Consent for authors under the age of 13:
Submissions from persons under 13 years of age will need to include written permission from their parent or guardian for the story to be considered for publication.
